Lighter than goose-down
My life is flying away...
Snow in the morning.
Kataoka Dengoemon Takafusa
In my humble translation.
The story of the translation is rather strange: I found this haiku in a book of the russian translations of jisei, it captured my attention and immediately got translated in English in my head. Then during my internet research on the Forty-seven Ronin theme (Takafusa was one of them) I found an English translation:
"A snowy morning, when human life seems to be lighter than goose-down."
unfortunately, I don't know the author of it, and even if it's word-to-word translation or a poetical try.
