Some boxes and THE QUESTION

Here, a finished project: I painted some wooden boxes to keep my stones, candles, aroma cones, and other magical junk, dear to the heart of every witch stuff.








The boxes also have small pictures on the sides and the back, and look cute. May be I should do a larger box for my essential oils.

Okay, and now a question:
Settings: a Fantasy world (like Forgotten Realms). The name: Azalund.
What does it brings to your mind? Is it a male or a female? Good or evil? Beautiful of ugly? Race? have you met this name before in some novel, comics, movie, etc.?
Please, answer if you are in the mood: I am in the process of developing a new character:)

The stones you have are also very pretty.

To me Azalund sounds like a male name, probably of a demon or some type of magical entity. Someone related to darkness, but not necessarily an evil being.

I also used the same dark purple paint for an old plain frame, and now I have your Drizzt picture on my wall rather spiffy framed ;))
Oh, I like those stones... I have much more of them, and always arrange and re-arrange them here and there all around the place, in the shells, small japanese dishes, and candleholders:)

The name Azalund came from a dream along with the character. The whole dream had an atmosphere of something catastrophic about to happen and a high-budget movie quality. The setting was a fancy fantasy castle and there was a daughter of the lord of the castle, a young woman, who was dressing magnificently rich and dark, and was holding herself with unsurpassed dignity, yet she was something very different inside... a complicated character, I liked her very much. Her name was Azalund, that I remember very well, and in the dream the name seemed to fit her nicely. Still half-dreaming, I thought that Zmei would definitely fall for her, and she's must be in his story.
But when I awoke, her name stopped to make much sense... To me it also sounds just like to you: male magical entity, or at least dark magic user. Plus now it sounds somehow familiar, as if I read it somewhere. Yet the name had stuck in my head along with the character, and I can't decide if I should rename her... I started a picture of her.

That's cool! I'm glad to hear Drizzt has a nice fixed-up frame.

It's weird how some dreams can make perfect sense when you're dreaming then, but then seem very nonsensical when you wake up.
I've never read the name Azalund anywhere else, I'm pretty sure.
You could change it just slightly to give it a feminine tone to fit the character you dreamed of: Azalinde or somesuch?
I look forward to seeing your picture of this new character! :)

Heh, yes, you are so right: the things that make sense in a dream often seems absurd when you are wake up:)
Guess I'll take your advise and will play with her name to sound and spell more feminine... Thank you!:)
