I am going to the mountains with the tent for a couple of days.

Till then, an inspirational piece: a design on a cotton fabric, Russian, end of XIX century, I think. I also think that it's beautiful... but one thing that I can't understand is what it's more influenced with, the traditional Chinese, or contemporary European styles? 8)

Вот вам пока узор ткани трёхгорной мануфактуры, конец XIXв., наверное. Очень красиво, на мой взгляд, только вот не могу понять под каким влиянием они такой дизайн создали, под традиционным китайским, или тогдашним-современным европейским?8)

I love this type of design! I can see both Chinese and European influence in it, but I couldn't say which is stronger.

heh, I also can't decide, which influence here is stronger - ever since I found it... Guess it was always like this with Russia - the price of being in between East and West:)

Thanks. Heh, I also like the design, I just can't decide, which influence in it is stronger, Chinese or European, and that's sort of annoying me:)

At first glance I want to say Chinese, but on second look there is a definite influence of European. I sure can't tell which is stronger. On gut reaction I say Chinese but the Wu in me makes me biased.

Забавно: векторной графики тогда ещё не было, а стиль - типично векторный :) ...когда рассматривала тигров на наборе постельного белья, казалось, что художнику пришлось изрядно помучиться, чтоб сделать рисунок именно векторным - потому что в другом формате, видимо, было не очень удобно печатать... А здесь - без принторов и прочих благ цивилизации - а техника такая же :)

...чем-то напоминает рисунки gerie_aren, правда у неё краски более насыщенные, что ли :) ...а так - тоже вырисовано и украшено - вплодь до каждого пёрышка или чешуйки :)

Векторный? Ну не знаю. Меня здесь стиль больше всего добивает: с одной стороны такой очень китайский, а с другой - европейский по штриховке там всякой, композиции, и прочим деталям...:)
