Suppose, you want some sushi for dinner. But it's -5'F (-20'C) outside, and even the thinking of going outside - to the store to get some fresh fish, or to Suehiro to dine out - scares you. What you are going to do?
I decided to try to make sushi from what I had handy.
All those sushi are made from everything, but raw fish: smoked salmon, Tuna Creations marinated tuna, and surimi. Believe me, they turned out pretty good. My guys said they like "cooked" sushi :)
So if it's too cold to go out, if you like kitchen experiments, or if you just don't like raw fish - here is an idea to play with!:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Представьте, что вам захотелось суши. Представьте, что за окном -20'C, и сама идея выхода на улицу - в магазин за свежей рыбой, или на обед в Суэхиро - вас мягко говоря не радует. Что делать будете?
Я решила поэксперементировать, и сделать суши из того, что нашлось под рукой.
Все эти суши сделаны из чего угодно, кроме сырой рыбы: копчёного лосося типа "красная рыба", консервированного тунца "из банки" (из пакетика, в данном случае), и из крЫбных палочек. Получилось вполне неплохо. Моё семейство одобрило :)
Вобщем, если на улице слишком холодно чтоб высовывать нос из дома, если любите кухонные эксперементы, или вы просто не любите сырой рыбы - вот идея с которой забавно поиграться:)
Sushi with canned tuna? Why not!:))
Суши из рыбных консервов? - Почему бы и нет? :))
Also, an hour ago I saw a fox in my backyard. It was carrying something in it's mouth - Sasha thought it was a bird. There are a lot of foxes in the area, and we see them quite often, but it's just the second time when I saw them in my own backyard.
А ещё я час назад видела лиса в своём саду. Он тащил что-то в зубах, Сашка думает, что птицу, а я не рассмотрела. У нас в округе много лис, мы их часто видим, но это всего лишь второй раз, когда я наблюдала лиса в собственном саду.
I've tried sushi a couple times and didn't care for it, but your sushi pics always make my mouth water...
You and Sara are both lucky to see foxes! How cool.
(also- Chrome now has an auto-translate feature that translates any of the russian on your page automatically. How cool (even if it says the same thing...lol))
Thanks! :)
There are lots of foxes in the area, I see them every week. They are very beautiful and graceful. But I am trying to keep my cats at home at evening.
Heh, auto-translators are fun. There was a popular game: to let an auto-translator to translate a famous poem first from russian to english, then back - and then to ask your friends to guess what the original was... it was almost practically impossible to guess!:)
Those are the kind of experiments I'd like to try. :D They look good.
We have more foxes in our area than we used to. I love seeing them....unless they are near our chicken house!
The sushi taste good, too:)
Heh, I don't have chickens, but I have cats - and I don't let them to go out after dark anymore... Still, it's cool to watch foxes, they are beautiful and graceful.
Ah, cool! I'll be you could make good sushi with all types of 'weird' ingredients.
That's cool about the fox! They live around here, but I hardly ever see them.
Thanks!
There are a lot of foxes in the area - in the very middle of the city, mind it! I really admire those guys. There is a fox lair in Sasha's Japanese language sensei's front yard - he lives on the next to us street! :))
хехе, пасиб, луччий комплимент! На самом деле неплохо получилось - и в холодильнике пару дней живёт, в отличие от суши из сырой рыбы...вобщем, всячески рекомендую!:)
Thank you! :)
Oh, Sasha is a very popular name in Russia. It's a short form of the name Alexander, by the way:)
oh, no wonder! coz i saw his name was alexander. But how did that evolve to sasha?
heh, it's because of the different pronunciation of the name: in Russian it sounds more like "Aleksandr". So, Aleksandr->Alesksasha->Sasha.
Russians have so many "affectionate diminutive" forms of each name, that it's ridiculous. Alexander, for example, could be Alex, Alik, Alek, Sasha, Sashka, Sashen'ka, Shura, Shurik, Sandro, and god knows what else... and it goes to each and every name! LOL :D
