Samurai 7

I just finished to watch the last episode of Samurai 7. What an awesome series! Steampunk-mecha-samurai mix after Akira Kurosawa's classic movie... I just dunno why I didn't stumble upon it earlier.
I was almost crying when Kyozo got killed... though I knew his will be, of course.

However, I don't remember Kurosawa's original very well... Does someone remember if Katsushiro, the youngest samiurai, survives in the original movie? I think he got killed there, at the very end. In the series he survives, though. Good for him:)

Только что досмотрела последний эпизод Samurai 7. Класснейшие аниме-серии. Стимпанк-меха-самураи, по классическому Куросавовскому сюжету - сама не знаю, как так вышло, что я раньше на них не наткнулась.
Я почти рыдала, когда Кюзо погибает... хоть, разумееццо, изначально знала, что ему в конце кирдык.

Да... но Куросавовских "Семь Самураев" я смотрела миллион лет назад, и помню очень плохо. Кто-нибудь помнит, выживает ли в оригинальном кине Кацусиро, самый молодой самурай? Мне казалось, что нет - а в аниме он остаётся жив. Ну, и ладненько, раз так, рада за него:)

Хех, кажется, очередной фан-арт назревает :)

I think he does survive in the original. It has been a while since I watched it in full, but I do believe he lives. I could be wrong.

I watched this series in completion two or three years ago. I loved it! I don't know why I didn't mention it to you...since it is something I would associate iwth you! I'm glad you got to watch it and enjoy it. I think it is one of the best anime series ever.

Yes, the series are very cool. There are so many anime series which are cool, but not exactly for my taste, but this one is so totally "mine".
When Samurai & were released - it was 2004, to the anniversary of the 1954's original - Sasha was 1 year old, so a lot of good movies and such had passed unnoticed by me for the lack of time... Glad that I finally (absolutely accidentally) discovered this one!:)

I talk about the series often to Tyler. I have a feeling he would like it(I will have to buy it for him for Valentines maybe...a gift for me as well...heehee).

I am glad you discovered it. I think we sometimes discover things and wonder "why not before" but perhaps we were different people at the time and might not be able to fully appreciate it.
