Thank you! Sure, you should make pumpkin stew - it's quite easy to make, tasty, and it looks so cool that my kid would eat it just because of the way it looks:))
I think no matter what one's faith is, or if one is just dedicated to an art or trade that an alter is a great idea. It is a center, a place to balance.
That is a pretty guitar. Both my parents play the guitar. My mother bought my father a guitar years ago. It has inlaid mother of pearl and a nice design. She worked for $40 a week for several weeks to buy it for him.
Thank you. I also don't care much if an altar serves a religious purpose or an idea or something like this . An altar is an object of meditation as much as a place of devotion....
You've mentioned before that your family plays guitars.... do you play? I never was good at it, and the last time I played was many years ago. This guitar - a Yamaha - was a b-day gift from my friends here in the US, also a while ago, but because it wasn't used much it looks all shiny and new. Now I am (quite lazily) trying to remember the songs I knew, and my fingers are hurt:)

I think that is forgotten in the churches I attend very often. Unlike catholic or orthodox alters in our churches the alters are rather plain and unadorned. They are utilitarian tools not places of meditation or centering. Not my idea of it, at least.
I do not play the guitar at all. I have played around with it a few times,(rolling a coffee cup on the strings as I pluck them to make it sound like a Chinese qin).
I know my mother's guitar is a Fender, but I'm not sure about the other two.
Good luck remembering the songs. It can be fun, but sometimes my father drives me batty playing something.
