Gypsy Punks!
Mar. 8th, 2008 12:16 pmGogol Bordello's concert last night was AWESOME! I am so glad, that we - Joe, Anton, and I - made it. (A. was babysitting for us, Sashka was behaving:).
The theatre - Fillmore Auditorium in Denver - was good, and we actually were on the dancing floor just several meters from the scene. The warming up band was also much, much better, than the previous one. The public was cool; I was amused to see some boys in semi-fantasy-ish outfits: there were a few "pirates", and a bunch of kilts. Especially colorful was a young fellow in a green kilt, some obviously-from-a-renfest boots, and white shirt, who was wearing an eyeliner and had a gorgeous (for a white guy) head of the loooong beaded dreads, that were flying in all the directions, when he was dancing around wildly:))
Gogol Bordello were at their best, better then on the previous concert we've been. We were standing (well, jumping and dancing:) right in the middle of the auditorium, and close to the scene, having a perfect view on Eugine Hutz all the time. Wow, such energy! 8) They were playing mostly Super Taranta, but also some old songs - Baro Foro, Mishto, Start Wearing Purple, 60 revolutions per minute, etc. All turned on to the maximum by their energy, people were dancing even more madly then usually, and it was taking some strength, and either an energy barrier, or an occasional blow of a fist (I used both:) to stay on the dancing floor and not to get knocked down by the dancing horde. All and all, it was a ton of fun. A boy, who was standing right behind me (who was obviously impressed by my knowledge of the russian part of the songs:)) had a bracelet, that sounded just like a gypsy tambourine, I so want one like this!:) And Hutz, shirtless, as always, looks even better with long hair;) I was just bathing in all that wild atmosphere; awesome, awesome...
There's just one thing, that is darkening my mood right now: my mother-in-law is already must be in the US:(
Anyway...
( Alcohol - Hutz on a concert )
That's pretty much matches the yesterday's concert:)
And especially for one Eugine Hutz's mustaches' fanboy, a cute (kinda, heh:) photo:

( a concert one )
