The snake was still [barely] alive, so Anton took it to the creek; I hope it'll survive.

вчера были на занятии в дожо. Антон 2 часа говорил потом с киёши, а мы с Сашкой поехали емы за обновками. Обьяснились. Киёши сказал, что держать насильно нас не будет. Похоже, Фил тоже сваливает... он там вчера был с дочкой, но не переодевался, и со взрослых и ММА свалил.

Poor thing.

Cora killed a little snake this spring, and while I understand that hunting is a great cat instinct, it still makes me sad when they kill a beautiful creature like that.

Yeah, it makes me sad, too. And when the cats kill mice and birds... but they can't go against their instincts. From one point of view it's a good thing, though: at least I know that my cats will survive in the wild:)
Still, I hope that the poor snake will live. It looked like it's bones were not broken, and snakes are very hard to kill to begin with...
